Hanging rock is about more than just speed. If the installation is sloppy, the house will struggle to handle the settling and shifting that happens in Western Mass. We focus on precision, ensuring every sheet is secured properly so you don't deal with nail pops six months later. Whether it is a new addition or a full home build, we get the foundation of the wall right.
We start by supplying quality drywall materials and supplies and delivering them to the jobsite. We take the time to install the gypsum board securely at the corners and seams, measuring and cutting the boards with a sharp blade knife and tape measure.to ensure a tight, secure, and lasting finish. Proper installation not only enhances the look and appeal but also contributes to the overall durability and how long the wall or ceiling lasts. We only use drywall screws, not nails, to eliminate nail pops. We take the time to measure accurately, cut precisely, and secure each panel firmly for the best quality job.
Life happens to your walls. Kids throw toys, furniture scuffs the hallway, and doorknobs find their way through the drywall. We fix the holes so you can't tell they were ever there. We don't do "band-aid" fixes that show a bump under the paint; we sand until the repair is flush with the original surface.
We fix cracks, holes, and nail pops, repair and patch holes that are made from electricians or plumbers accessing the space behind the drywall. Our team in the pioneer valley specializes in delivering high-quality repairs that not only restore the integrity of your walls but also enhance the overall appearance of the walls and ceilings. Whether we repair your ceilings or restore your walls, we guarantee professional results, satisfaction, and that it will look like it never happened.
If you are tired of the 1970s look, we can take it all off. We use a wet-scraping method that keeps eliminates the dust. Scraping reveals the raw drywall paper underneath. Once the texture is gone, we sand any remaining powder off and prime the drywall. If needed we skim the surface smooth so you can finally have a ceiling that doesn't attract cobwebs and dust. If the house was built before 1980 there is a chance the popcorn contains asbestos. These ceilings can't be disturbed without testing first. If the budget doesn't allow for testing or it has been painted more than once, we have the option to overlay drywall or skim coat the ceiling smooth.
A roof leak or ice dam can turn your ceiling into a yellow, sagging mess. We cut out the ruined material, verify the area is dry, and replace the rock. We don't just paint over a water stain; we fix the structural damage so the ceiling is safe and clean again. Water damage can be expensive but it is almost always covered by Homeowner's insurance. We can work with your insurance adjuster to restore your home to pre loss condition. Ice dams water damage is something we do every spring. Many homes in the pioneer valley have water that backs up under the roofing shingles causing brown spots and wet insulation in the walls.
Older homes in the Pioneer Valley have character, but they also have horsehair plaster that eventually cracks and sags. You cannot fix plaster the same way you fix modern drywall. We understand the difference. We stabilize the old lath and use specific compounds to bridge the gaps so your historic walls stay intact without losing their look. Plaster ceiling cracks are common. Older homes often have plaster that is sagging and delaminating from the lath. If left long enough, sections may fall off. While plaster is tough against water, leaking over time can deteriorate the cement that holds it together and leave holes. We can patch and repair plaster holes, cracks, and imperfections. If the plaster is bad enough, we offer to laminate new drywall sheets over the plaster, sandwiching the plaster to the lath and giving a strong, crack-free drywall finish.
Drywall taping is the first step where paper tape is embedded into all purpose joint compound and the excess is wiped off. We start by taping the seams and butt joints. Taping the corners folding the tape so that half is on each side of the corner. We install and fill the cornerbeads on outside corners, and install the no-coat tape on corners over 90 degrees. After the first coat is dry usually overnight, we then second coat. Second coat starts by covering the tape with compound and filling the recessed seams flat, the corners get one side coated.
